Program Information:
In September 1996, the University of Minnesota College of Agricultural, Food and Environmental Sciences, Southwest State University, and agriculture and agribusiness leaders met to discuss the opportunities for expanding the availability of agricultural courses and degrees in southwest Minnesota. The meeting produced a recommendation that the University of Minnesota and Southwest State University work to create an innovative joint effort to meet the needs of southwest Minnesota agriculture and students interested in studying agricultural sciences.
The College of Agricultural, Food and Environmental Sciences and Southwest State University have entered into an agreement to greatly expand educational opportunities for agricultural sciences in the region. Students will be able to earn a University of Minnesota degree by taking the needed agricultural science courses at SSU.
