Instructions for Uploading Files onto Desire2Learn

In this document, we will use a Syllabus as an example
and go through two different ways to put up a syllabus.

You can link your syllabus from the Navigation Bar or in the Content Area.

 


Method 1:  Putting it in the Navigation Bar

  1. Create a syllabus in Microsoft word.
  2. Save the syllabus as a web page.
  3. Log into d2l, into the appropriate class

4.   click on Course Content

5.   From the menu on the right, choose manage files

6.   From the top buttons, choose upload

7.   Click browse to find the file that you created

  1. Once found, click open, then upload

9.   click on edit course

10.   In the nav bars section, click on the bottom left tab

11.   At the bottom of the page, click New Link

12.  Title your link syllabus

13.   Browse for the syllabus that you saved as a web page

14.  Click open on the browse window, save on the link window, and save again on the navigation bars window.

15.  Scroll down to where your link is, and click on it.

16.  Click on the arrow to make it an active link.

17.  Save it.

18.  To get back to your course, click on the green arrow near the top right corner of the page.

Method 2: Putting it in Course Content

  1. Create a syllabus in Microsoft word
  2. Save the syllabus as a web page
  3. Log into d2l, into the appropriate class
  4. click on the content button

  1. From the menu on the right, select manage files

  1. from the tools at the top, select upload

  1. Click browse to find the file that you created

  1. Once found, click open, then upload

  1. Go back into content, and click on add module

  1. Title it syllabus or whatever you want the heading to be.

  1. Save it.

  1. Click on the add topic symbol

  1. Click on Course file

  1. title it, then browse for the file you uploaded

  1. click on the proper file, then save.
