Welcome to the Honors Program page!

The Honors Program provides well-prepared and highly motivated students with an alternative to the Liberal Arts Core (LAC) requirements. In place of the standard LAC, honors students are given the opportunity to design their own course of study in the Liberal Arts - one that is more challenging and directly suited to their individual academic needs.

The Program requires little additional specific course work. During the first semester, the student, in consultation with the Director of the Honors Program and a review board of faculty members from various disciplines, designs his/her individual program of study. Each program must include three courses from a selected list of honors courses and a senior-level honors interdisciplinary seminar. In addition, each student is required to complete an hour-long senior dialogue with selected faculty members.

Honors students must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.3 or higher in order to graduate from the Honors Program.

This page is a work in progress, so please continue to come back and watch the page grow! Coming soon: a real picture of Honors students, samples of individual Honors Programs, descriptions of seminars and the senior dialogue, student testimonials, applications, links, and more!
