Marshall, Minn. - Rural and Regional Studies Professor Emeritus Joe Amato has had his latest book, "On Foot: A History of Walking," translated into Korean.

The book traces the history of walking from ancient times to the present. It explores various forms of walking - marching, strolling, promenading, rambling, sauntering and commuting, to name but a few.

"I'm happy to see the book published in the language of a culture in which walking is important," said Amato.

The book's U.S. publisher is New York University Press.

Amato is working on another book, "History of the American Poor," which will be published by the Minnesota Historical Society.
